What’s Happening with Google Android?
It looks like that petition that some Android developers were promising to create has been sent to Google Android. From the initial interest that the platform garnered with almost 2000 submissions in the first round of the Google Android competition, only 245 people have signed the petition asking Google for more info and updates on the Android SDK. Not a good sign. Worse is that the only reply from Google was a two sentence email sent by some guy named Dave:
We appreciate the enthusiasm of our developers and we’re excited that you’re so passionate about the Android platform. Thanks for taking the time to send this.
Compare this to the iPhone Apps store that has over 1000 applications, 60 million downloads and made $30 million, just in the first month. Ouch!
