Missing the Epiphany

The SD Forum Marketing SIG was good last night. Most of the advice was well received by the startups that agreed to have their marketing plans discussed in public.

One of the most interesting pieces of advice was from Sean Murphy of SKMurphy.  He suggested that the execs of these startups should read through a book called The Four Steps to the Epiphany“. I checked it out on Amazon. It got great reviews.

Now for the strange part. This book, which was published in 2005 and which is widely respected in the startup community, is not available in the local libraries in the Bay Area. I have checked the on-line catalogs for the public libraries in SF, San Jose, Santa Clara and Mountain View. All 4 did not have any reference for this book. This makes no sense.

To look through this book, I may have to turn to my Library of Last Resorts, aka Barnes and Noble.
