The Search for Free Press Release Sites
The Internet makes you forget that posting info is considered a service, a valuable, expensive service. While we may be able to put up websites at little or no-cost, press releases are a different type of info. It traditionally was very expensive to distribute it to the press. Now that the costs have dropped, it must make it difficult for the release services to stay in business. On the flip side, reporters have told me that they just ignore press release because they get so many.
Regardless of the drawbacks, I still look for sites to release Geogad’s press releases, preferably for free. I have see some sites that offer to distribute a press release for hundreds of dollars, but that seems like a great deal of money if it is ignored among the avalanche of other press releases.
Thanks to a book called Search Engine Optimization for Dummies by Peter Kent, I knew of half a dozen web sites that would release a press release for free. Sadly, Some sites seem to have gone out of the business, and this number had dropped to only three. I am on the hunt for new sites to distribute a press release for free.
