The longer I live in Silicon Valley, the more I am amazed at the resources that exist here for starting your own businesses.  Everyone here knows that business powers this area, and they are more than happy to commit resources to startups that may be the Next Big Thing. 

A person that I meet at the NewTech meeting suggested that I check out some free classes for startups given by the Technology Ventures Corp.  The Tech Ventures CCET free classes cover topics every tech startup needs to know.  I attend the last class in the series, which covered term sheets with angels and VC.  This class covered a difficult subject in sufficient detail to answer my most pressing questions.  Usually, talks about term sheets are either just skim the surface or dive too deeply into strange new financial and legal terms without explanation.  This class lasted an entire morning, was taught by three knowledgeable experts who could answer tough questions with their own experience.  The classes included free handouts of the presentation slides and even included breakfast.  All for FREE!  And people wonder why Silicon Valley is still so successful at creating tech startups.
